Questions to consider
- Which word list is this for: this week's class list, common errors, or exam vocabulary?
- Do you teach British or American spelling? These words are spelled the same in both, but your own list may not be.

How to use the responses
Look at which misspelling each learner chose, not only whether they got it wrong. Picking "recieve" shows they need the "except after c" rule, while "accomodate" shows they're missing double letters. Build next week's list from the words most of the class missed, and give individual learners their own few words to practise.

Why put spelling words in a sentence?
A sentence shows which word is meant, which matters for words that sound alike, like "their" and "they're". Keep the sentence simple so it doesn't become a reading test.
What are the most commonly misspelled words?
Words with double letters or silent letters, like accommodate, necessary, rhythm and February, plus "definitely", "separate" and "receive".
How many words should a spelling quiz have?
Ten to fifteen words is typical for a weekly class test. Fewer works for a quick warm-up.
