How to use the responses
Treat the score as a starting suggestion, then have a teacher read the writing sample before confirming the class. A student who scores B1 but writes at A2 level usually belongs in the lower class. Export the responses to CSV to group new students by suggested level and learning goal when you plan intakes.

What does an English placement test measure?
It gives a quick estimate of grammar and vocabulary level so a school can suggest a starting class. It is not an official certificate.
How long should an English placement test be?
Around ten to twenty graded questions plus a short writing task is enough for a first placement. Longer tests tire lower-level learners before they finish.
What do A1, B1 and C1 mean?
They are levels from the Common European Framework of Reference: A for beginner, B for intermediate and C for advanced. This template suggests a level; your teachers confirm it.
